Ahoy! It took a while, but our website and fundraising site are both up and running! Now it’s time to hit the road raising money for charity and finding sponsors to cut down on the cost of this crazy things we’ve committed to. If you’re interested in becoming a sponsor please check out our sponsor page (link at the top) and see what we can offer in return for your generosity.
As noted all over this website, the Mongol Rally is not just a great adventure but also a charity event. The charity we’ve chosen is Mission 22, which helps returning or troops already here with PTSD problems or brain injuries. They’ve partnered with several medical organizations to help our veterans get the care they need when the VA isn’t fast enough.
The way we’re raising money is a little different. We found a ‘FUN-raising’ website that was started by a previous rally team. Instead of just walking around asking people for money, you can donate to specific challenges. Once the goal is met for that challenge we’ll complete it and post proof that we did it, and only then will the funds be released (unless we decide to do the challenge regardless of the final donation tally.) So as an example one of the challenges is for us to have to listen to the same song on repeat for an entire day while we’re on the road. Can you imagine listening to Who Let the Dogs Out for entire day?!? Me neither, but if you donate enough you’ll get to torture us with it.
Here’s the link to our funraiser site. Help us out and donate to a great cause!
