There are quite a few logistics involved in us pulling this whole thing off. The car is one thing, navigating varying visa processes, anticipating currency exchanges and what not. The foundation of all of that is our website. After all we need a presentable way to collect donations for our charities as well as find sponsors to help us cut down on the tremendous cost of the trip. Can’t do that with no scrub geocities page. Easier said than done.
Ryan is a bartender, Mitch is in medical sales and I’m a video editor. None of those resumes include web development. I did create a few geocities pages 18 years ago, but at this point that’s as helpful as remembering the strategy behind Minesweeper on Windows 95. So I did what any reasonable person that didn’t want to pay for something would do: read enough to figure out that I can buy a template from someone else, and then pick it apart in a painfully slow manner until the bastard Yak Phoenix rises from the ashes of the original code. So if there’s anything weird about this site I should point out that a total professional built it, and then a total non-professional tinkered with it.
So what better way to start than posting up at my favorite bar and getting a beer. Cheers!
